The 21st Century Classroom Is Here
You Want Her To Reach Her Dreams
And, We Are Here To Help
Today’s mobile technology enables children to have nearly 24-hour media access, and many students are spending close to eight hours per day using entertainment media, according to new research from the Kaiser Family Foundation. It is their way of life. Yet, when students enter the typical K-12 classroom, they'’re forced to “power down” in order to learn.
But it doesn'’t have to be that way.
Digital projectors, document cameras, interactive and personally adaptive software, tablet PC's, and smart phones are among the many technologies that are quickly becoming essential tools for helping 21st-century teachers engage their students’ interest and make learning more interactive.
At Impact, we offer the latest of these technologies to help schools embrace 21st Century teaching and learning in their own classrooms..
How We Help Schools, Teachers and Administrators
Impact Educational Software is a leading distributor of educational technology and products in the Southern U.S. We help schools from Florida to Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas reach their education and technology goals.
We adhere to a minimum set of standards when selecting quality publishers and products that translate into effective positive outcomes in the classroom. The products we select for our schools have already undergone scrutiny for sound technology, pedagogy and a history of success in 21st century schools.

The world becomes more technologically advanced each year and the middle school years are particularly challenging for educators. It is often in these years that the commitment to school, work, or social interactions are founded.
During students middle grade years, cognitive capabilities improve in terms of their ability to think abstractly, consider different perspectives, and take
multiple factors into account at once (Keating, 1990).
With so many factors converging, it becomes critical to address educational challenges for individual students and continue to motivate them to engage in school.
At Impact, we select "the best of the best" when it comes to engaging technology and software for middle schools.
Rigor and Relevance. These are the mantras for education during the high school years. And as such, becomes Impact's criteria for selecting educational resources for the high school level.
With the adoption of the Common Core acrosss the majority of the country, it becomes clear that we are no longer simply preparing students to graduate from high school. The end goal is advanced education beyond high school to ensure America can compete as the number one force in the 21st century global economy.
Twenty-eight percent of Oklahomans do not graduate from high school. Presently, 22% of high school graduates in the state of Oklahoma hold a bachelors degree or higher, ranking as the 43rd state in the US. Texas with a slightly higher performance rate of 24.5% ranks 35.
It is our goal to provide engaging, relevant and rigorous instruction that keeps kids motivated to stay in school and prepared for success in college. Impact's instructional technology expertise can create a paradigm shift in your school that moves away from measuring drop-out rates to measuring the rate of your high school graduates with advanced degrees.
Learning disabled students drop out of high school at more than twice the rate of their non-disabled peers. Impact products support students with a range of special needs and abilities.
The current philosophy of Computer assisted language learning (CALL) puts a strong emphasis on student-centred materials that allow students to work on their own. Such materials may be structured or unstructured, but they normally embody two important features: interactive learning and individualised learning.
Impact's philosophy is that CALL is an essential tool that helps teachers to facilitate the language learning process. It can be used to reinforce what has already been learned in the classroom or as a remedial tool to help learners who require additional support.
The design of CALL materials selected by Impact to offer to schools takes into consideration principles of language pedagogy and methodology, which may be derived from different learning theories (e.g. behaviourist, cognitive, constructivist) as well as current human language technologies. Of particular influence in selection of our English Language Learning programs is Natural Language Processing (NLP), especially the areas of speech synthesis, speech recognition and parsing.
